  2.  D A T E  COMMAND                                                             
  3.  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 
  4.                                                                               
  5.  Purpose: Use to enter or change the date known to DOS.  The date is recorded 
  6.           in the directory when you create or change a file and is recognized 
  7.           by most software programs.                                          
  8.                                                                               
  9.  Format:  DATE                                                                
  10.                                                                               
  11.  Remarks: After entering the DATE command at the DOS prompt, the following    
  12.           appears:  Current date is  10-15-1988                               
  13.                     Enter new date (mm-dd-yy):_                               
  14.                                                                               
  15.           At this point you may either enter a new date or press the <return> 
  16.           key to cancel the command.                                          
  17.
